Steampunk Room

Forgive the noisy, jagged, and blurry image. I don't think I'm ready to work on a 'somewhat realistic' render with the current setup that I have access to.

A take on my bedroom in a steampunk style (I guess). This was an assignment I did during my training in MNC Animation (I just finished the render like today (07/17/2017) lol), we were given deadlines and set of goals. This was my best effort in a three months worth of work, I'm quite satisfied with the result but I'm sure I can add more stuff in it (and render time, smdh).

The breakdown for the two characters I plan to be in a separate post, that if I even manage to sneak a time to render at the office.

Modeled with Max, textured in Quixel and Photoshop and rendered in Maya with V-Ray.

It has the same layout as my bedroom. But with way more space and leg room.

Forget that tarp!

I was going to model the whole wooden floor for the sake of it, but realize that it'd kill my render time so I resort to bump map in the end

I pretty much 'cheat' with the lighting since a window to the outside was part of the scene using Vray sun was the easiest option I had.

If I were to design and set up a different lighting mood I won't be able to finish the project.

I'm quite surprise the wall and floor came out pretty neat.

The room was finished midway into the 2nd month, after that I started to work on the two characters.

At the of the day, apart from vray sun I put around 5-7 additional lights just for these two.

I really like how the robot turned out, I was trying to make a bronze/copper alloy shader but didn't come up with a satisfying result, so I opted for painted metal.
